Why Most "Safe" Products Aren't

The FDA does not review cosmetics before they go to market. Manufacturers can use virtually any chemical as long as they self-certify it's safe — a standard that's resulted in thousands of products on store shelves containing compounds banned in the EU, linked to cancer, or classified as hormone disruptors.

The word "fragrance" alone can legally hide over 3,000 different synthetic chemicals — none of which need to be disclosed. Parabens mimic estrogen. PFAS chemicals accumulate in your blood for years. Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives are legal in shampoo and baby wash.

We built this scanner because you deserve to know what's actually in the products you put on your body and feed to your family. Knowledge is the first step. The next step is switching to products that don't contain any of this — and we'll point you right to them.
